Thanh is a Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science at UNC Chapel Hill,
advised by Dr. Jan-Michael Frahm.
He has 2 years of AI Residency at Google X and prior internship experience at Amazon and Lenovo.
During his Ph.D., Thanh developed expertise in Computer Vision and Machine Learning, with a focus on efficient and robust Deep Learning algorithms for large-scale edge applications.
In the past, Thanh has tackled a variety of different
vision problems (e.g., classification, detection, segmentation, depth estimation, image generation),
ML areas (e.g., domain adaptation, unsupervised learning, knowledge distillation, multi-task learning, neural architecture search, adjustable neural network),
and application domains (e.g., precision agriculture, autonomous driving, AR/VR, mobile apps).
